Meera Jasmine whose original name is Jasmine Mary Joseph is from Kuttapuzha, Thiruvalla, a small town in Kerela. She is the daughter of Joseph Philip and Aleyamma Philip. She is doing her degree in Home Science. Her entry into the film industry was through Malayalam

Meera's entry into films was an unexpected one. This talented artist was a very shy natured girl who had not even performed a single stage show during her schooling. She once went watch a film shooting with her friends and director Lohitadas noticed Meera and found out that there was something extraordinary about her and it was through his movie “Soothradharan”, she entered the film Industry.
